Following the diagnosis that a lack of initiative is a major hindrance to the development of businesses, in particular micro-enterprises (MSMEs), start-ups and informal production units (IPUs) in the member countries of the Indian Ocean Commission (IOC). It was recommended that training be developed to move away from conventional training and adopt self-centered training approaches, with action as the central element. With this in mind, a training course for trainers in personal initiative (FIP) was formulated, with the central elements of entrepreneurial success being the entrepreneurial environment, future orientation, overcoming obstacles, stimulating personal initiative and so on.
This training was held in Tananarive, Madagascar, from January 13 to 18, 2025.
General objectives :
– Train a cohort of trainers certified in the FIP approach, represented in each IOC member country, notably the 4 priority countries of the program.
– Provide cross-disciplinary training to enable certified trainers to apply the FIP approach in various fields.
– Offer training focused on the entrepreneur (MSME, start-up or PIU manager) to encourage initiative-taking and the move to action.
